2KHockey.net Forums _ NHL 2K11/2K Series Discussion _ Official Custom Soundtrack Song Lists

Posted by: Wingfan Jul 31, 2004 - 07:44 PM

Ok, now that we cofirmed that each arena can have their own songs, let's compile a list of all the situations and what songs go in all those. Please do not post in this thread if you are only going to add one song. And use the template I've set up to fill out your team's songs. Let's keep the Generic music to ONLY songs that your team plays every game as tradition or whatever else because there would be too many and no one could remember all of them, plus they change from year to year.

It'll also help if you can put the artist who the song is by, if at all possible.

Atlanta,

isn't that more of a general list and not a team specific list?

Hmm, I guess so. Sorry, didn't read the title of the thread so well.

Posted by: WAZ Aug 1, 2004 - 03:36 AM

Damn Brent, you beat me to it. smile.gif I was just going to post a thread like this, but great to see it already underway.

I went ahead and stuck it at the top of the forum for people to reference and keep adding to.

I also made one change, which is something I was going to implement if I had started this as planned -- large, bold, colored team titles. If this thread is going to grow across several pages with lists and lists of songs, it's going to get hard to find things. Giving your thread a team title will make it easy to pick out individual lists that people might be looking for, especially if they're searching and scrolling across several pages.

It's simple. Just make sure your message option is set to Normal Mode instead of Guided.

When you type the team name you're doing (and I also added * asterisks * around them for added clarity), type it out normally. Then HIGHLIGHT it and click the B button up top. Then highlight it again and make the Size = Largest. You can then highlight again and make the color whatever... I happened to pick team colors in these few because it worked, but that's obviously no big deal.

Anyway, I hope to see this thread grow so everyone can make the game as ridiculously customized as possible. smile.gif As long as it stays pretty organized like this, it will serve as a great reference for everyone.

Posted by: Wingfan Aug 1, 2004 - 04:22 AM

thanks for making this a sticky Waz. I hope this doesn't end up going like 30 pages, that's why I was kinda hoping the person who posts the song list for their team really has it nailed down to like 95% accurate. This will avoid people posting 1 or 2 songs at a time and avoid the thread growing out of control.

**TV Broadcast Music**

This one post here is for people going the other route like I am, making the music fit a TV broadcast. I did this for ESPN NFL and it sounds amazing. I took the Fox NFL theme song and set it for the opener (changed it up for Monday night games with the MNF theme), and used NFL Films music, and others like it. I plan to use CBC broadcast music in NHL. Here are some great music pieces to download if you want to do this as well. I uploaded most of this to the downloads section.

I'm still using real music, just this stuff for the opener, between periods, after game, and anytime real broadcast music would kick in.

* The Chance - CBC PlayOff theme
* Classic Battle - NFL Films (used in NFL Fever 2002)
* The Equalizer - NFL Films (one of my favs)
* A New Game - NFL Films (this is used a lot by CBC in the PlayOffs)
* The Final Quest - NFL Films
* Hockey Night In Canada - CBC Televison
* Fox NHL Theme - Fox Sports

Posted by: Raizok Aug 2, 2004 - 03:45 AM

Awesome additions guys, there are some real gems in those lists that I'm happy to have biggrin.gif

Here's the list of options you can customize (according to the 45 minute preview)

Menu
Intro
Intermission
Skills Comp
Mini Games
Penalty on Home
Penalty on Away
Home Goal
Away Goal
End of Game
Break in Play
Break in Play 2
Fight

Hope that helps. I'm kind of wondering where there is a Break in Play 2 option, does this mean we can only have a limited amount of tracks in the game? That. Would. Suck. Especially if I have 300 clips to add in the game sad.gif

By going to the arena in person and remembering them all, like me. Or by taking note while watching the games on TV or listening on the radio and writing them down, like I did for the ones I couldn't remember when I went to the games.

Posted by: capnlarge Aug 5, 2004 - 07:07 AM

Half of the songs the arenas play are techno songs that are impossible to tell the names of unless you know the song. So it can be hard to write those down.

At Ducks games, when the other team scores they sometimes play "Even the Losers Get Lucky Sometimes" by Tom Petty

I like going to Ducks games because I get to hear this song a lot...its a good song

I know that the Flames used to have their set list posted on their website but it seems to be taken down. If I find it again, I'll post it. I know it was a crapload of Metallica, GNR, Pantera and Rage against the machine.

If any recent (2003-2004) NHL games get played on ESPN Classic, I'll try to catch it from beginning to end so I can get at least a feel for what songs the home team played. If anyone else wants to do this, be my guest. I'm just hoping ESPN-C shows some games from this past year err.gif

Jack LaLanne takes priority over Classic NHL... I swear Classic MLB has been on since Feb, plus the NFL is starting too, so forget it...

I have a request in to the guys that do the production for the Carolina Hurricanes home games, we'll see if I get a response. For both of us 'Canes fans wink.gif. Though it wouldn't hurt others to know what another "official" song list is.

Hopefully I'll get a response.

"Rock You Like A Hurricane", The Scorpions
"Twilight Zone", 2 Unlimited
Organ Music
Today's hits and some oldies

.... biggrin.gif . That's all I can think of now. lol.gif

http://www.carolinahurricanes.com/custom/radE87EF.asp

This is from the 'Canes website. Go to that link and scroll down to "In-Arena Fixtures". I'm sure you record some of those (like Ric Flair's "Wooo!") and then mix them with Song 2 by Blur to create the Hurricanes goal song.

Posted by: ColdForged Aug 19, 2004 - 04:24 PM

Yup, there's the other fan wave.gif.

Yeah, there's some that I remember: "Back In Black" and "You Shook Me" by AC/DC at random times, "Bodies" by Drowning Pool after fights, "Won't Back Down" by Tom Petty after away goals.

But it would be great if they had an actual list they'd provide.

Posted by: capnlarge Aug 21, 2004 - 03:39 AM

Do the Ric Flair woos come before Song 2 or during Song 2?

Posted by: class_of_67 Aug 21, 2004 - 11:10 AM

Anyone looking for a large selection of ditties for your playlist should go http://audio.arenacenter.net/. Found this gem and it has a lot to choose from. Hope this helps some of ya find those missing tunes. biggrin.gif

Posted by: class_of_67 Aug 21, 2004 - 11:25 AM

Um, never mind about that site. I knew it was designed for the EA NHL pc games, but for some reason I'm not able to play the .asf files posted. Anyone else had any luck? confused.gif

Posted by: capnlarge Aug 21, 2004 - 11:27 AM

There's a file you can download from that site that allows you to convert the ASFs to Wav format.

Posted by: class_of_67 Aug 21, 2004 - 11:44 AM

Yeah, I found it. Stupid me, lol! I got it to work too. So awesome. It converts the files to .wav files so it's all good. Very cool selection I might add, with team specific songs like the "Are You Ready Hockeytown" for Wings fans. AWESOME!!! dance.gif

From what I can tell from watching highlights on the Blackhawks site, the Hawks have three different goal songs. They use Rock and Roll Part 2, Song 2, and the Rolling Stones' "You Got Me Rockin'".

Before every goal song they play some sort of organ music. Any Hawks fan have a clean clip of it?

Yeah, I found it. Stupid me, lol! I got it to work too. So awesome. It converts the files to .wav files so it's all good. Very cool selection I might add, with team specific songs like the "Are You Ready Hockeytown" for Wings fans. AWESOME!!! dance.gif

Could you explain how you got it to work, I haven't tried yet but just in case I run into some problems. Thanks.

You just drag the asf file to the sndview.exe file and presto its converted. If you have alot it may take awhile but it works.

You gotta put "Movin' on up to East Side" in the ACC.

Posted by: Illuminatus Proteus Aug 30, 2004 - 09:23 AM

The leafs goal song is that "Are you ready for this" music. Sort of dance music. It is classic... you will know what I am talking about... when you hear it.

Posted by: capnlarge Aug 30, 2004 - 09:28 AM

As far as I know the Leafs use Zombie Nation now, not Get Ready For This.

Posted by: Illuminatus Proteus Aug 30, 2004 - 09:39 AM

When did they switch? I swear I remembe hearing "Get ready for this" everytime the leafs scored. Your not the only person to say Zombie Nation though. Wish, I had a playoff game from last season still on tape.

EDIT: I have been proved wrong... Zombie Nation is it. Are most arenas using this now?

I am just trying to figure out what point I should cut into Zombie Nation.

Although I hate the Predators, I do go see the Hawks just about every time they play there. And lately I've been hearing a song a lot (Predators home goal) which is the most annoying hockey song in the league. Nashville plays "I like it, I love it, I want some more of it" - some country song by someone (sorry don't listen to country so I can't tell you who it is). And what's worse is when the song is supposed to say "I don't know what it is about that little gal's lovin'" it says "I don't know what it is about the Preators scoring, but I like it, I love it, I bla bla bla bla bla"

Sorry but there are just some things that don't go together, hockey and country music are one of them.

Hmm...I already have a few country songs cued up for my game actually.

Johnny Cash - Folsom Prison Blues

Away Penalty:

It doesn't randomize the songs. It also doesn't let you cut songs. That all has to be done before you put them on your Xbox. Not only those issues, but I've been hearing that the songs just cut out or stop working at different times until you restart your Xbox.

How many seconds generally does each track need to be? For example do I just record the 30 seconds I wanted played for each track? I'd rather do this then record the entire song for 2 reasons: 1) this sounds like what needs to be done to make sure the part of the song you want played gets played (since there is no splicer), and 2) this will make the process of transfering songs to the xbox and storage requirements much smaller.

I'm making my generic tracks roughly 30 seconds to a 1:00 long, and all my goal songs to be like 1:00 long. Goal songs need to actually be cut so there's like 6 seconds or more of silence to allow for the goal horn to go off. The game starts playing goal music as soon as you score, so unless you want the music to be played over the horns, I suggest you edit in that silence. So if you leave the game running with the replays after a goal is scored, it can take up to a minute for the action to resume at the faceoff at center ice. So just to cover my butt, I made goal music last for a little over a minute.

Posted by: capnlarge Aug 31, 2004 - 11:32 AM

I have a project in mind. It'll require a little effort, but I'll think I'll do it anyway.

I've decided to edit the exact right amount of silence at the beginning of every team's goal song, so that they line up properly with the team's horn.

Posted by: ColdForged Aug 31, 2004 - 11:36 AM

Perhaps those of you who are doing this have already figured out how many seconds from the time the Intro music cue hits until the players actually hit the ice. Anyone timed it?

Posted by: capnlarge Aug 31, 2004 - 11:55 AM

Maybe, I'll do this too. Unfortunately, I don't have the game yet, so it's kinda a moot point.

Fiddy, I made a thread with my custom goal songs for download in the forum.

But if you want to make your own, here are the delay times for all the goal horns in the game...

Ana - 10 secs
Atl - 15 secs
Bos - 9 secs
Buf - 15 secs
Cal - 19 secs
Car - 13 secs
Chi - 9 secs
Col - 8 secs
CBJ - 9 secs
Dal - 10 secs
Det - 12 secs
Edm - 14 secs
Fla - 11 secs
LA - 11 secs
Min - 10 secs
Mon - 14 secs
Nash - 13 secs
NJ - 12 secs
NYI - 13 secs
NYR - 10 secs
Ott - 9 secs
Phi - 11 secs
Phx - 12 secs
Pit - 10 secs
SJ - 11 secs
STL - 15 secs
TB - 19 secs
Tor - 16 secs
Van - 11 secs
Was - 15 secs

and all sndview does is convert .asf files to wav, so I don't know why you'd really want it unless you were converting some EA songs into WAV format.

The Blackhawks play "Here Come the Hawks" (Organ) followed by the Hey Song. Much like L.A.'s "I Love L.A." followed by that other song.

Here's the link...Frank Pellico is the Blackhawks organists, at least thats what the woman I talked to told me. I'm trying to get in contact with Frank, I'm DETERMINED to get Blackhawks music on here.

Don't know what it sounds like.

Do the Hawks play Song 2 and the Stones after goals? It took me about 2 hours to find clips of the Blackhawks where the replay went long enough for me to hear the song. I finally found some from the 2002-03 season...they played "Here Come the Hawks" followed by the Hey Song.

And that's good about the Stones, since I'm a huge Stones fan, I have every Stones CD (just about; ok not really because there's 10,000) but I have that song.

do the Hawks still play that song that was in NHL 94?  It was an organ tune, but I never knew the name of it.

I also emailed the Hawks webmaster, but have yet to hear back.

Before I got the Blues goal song from someone, I emailed the Blues webmaster as well, but they replied that they did not have a sample of it due to copyright laws.

Yes, its the same song from NHL '94, its just fancied up a little bit. It was a VERY generic version on the Genesis (obviously). The name of the song is Here Come the Hawks.

holy ****!!!! IT IS the same song as from NHL 94, awesome!!!!

I actually listened to the old 50's version on their website, that had words, but it didn't ring a bell, but this organ sampling is incredible!!!! I need this CD now!

Yeah, I've been searching for the CD. Its not being sold anymore. I talked to the a few people at the United Center today and they were saying, "Yeah, there used to be a CD about 10 years ago"...funny how accurate they were as it was released in 1994. I'll let you know if I get my hands on it or if I can get in touch with the organist. And I meant to ask, can you transfer those small clips to mp3s? I sure hope so. They can be saved as Windows Medaia/Audio files.

Posted by: capnlarge Sep 3, 2004 - 12:04 AM

Okay I have this ripped as wave files and I'm working on noise reduction right now.

All I had to do was record them with sndrec and some creative use of a headphone jack cable. I was even able to create a useable clip from that chicago organ. Oh man this is gonna kick ass.

Posted by: Hockey Nut Sep 3, 2004 - 12:11 AM

Awesome! Can you make it like the LA song where the Hey Song plays after one line of the main chorus?

Thnaks

I was going to try and do this tonight, but its getting late and I have an hour drive home. OH and are you going to be able to do the Predators too?

Posted by: capnlarge Sep 3, 2004 - 12:30 AM

I can't upload to this site, how am I gonna get these to you guys?

I have the nashville song and the chicago songs.

Actually I'm gonna try sampling them at a better quality. Turns out I had sndrec on 8 bit mono, and the clips are kinda hissy.

Posted by: capnlarge Sep 3, 2004 - 01:19 AM

Okay everything is done.

I have a Nashville goal song with a 13 second delay. (as per Wingfan's list)

And 3 Chicago Goal Songs. (Organ + Rock & Roll 2, Song 2, You Got Me Rocking).

Not sure what to put for a delay here, because the organ should kick in during the horn from my experience.

I guess I could e-mail them to Wingfan or something.

If that sounds like a good idea Wingfan, PM me your e-mail address and you can host them.

Edit: Or i could just e-mail them to those who want them. That would be sufficient until WAZ gets the uploads back up. Oh well time for go to bed.

Blackhawks also play Song 2 and the Rolling Stones "You Got Me Rocking"

Hmm...can you find the Sharks goal song?  It's a remix of Rock and Roll 2.

Don't know what it sounds like.

Do the Hawks play Song 2 and the Stones after goals? It took me about 2 hours to find clips of the Blackhawks where the replay went long enough for me to hear the song. I finally found some from the 2002-03 season (they seem to have started editing out the goal song later in the season)...they played "Here Come the Hawks" followed by the Hey Song.

And that's good about the Stones, since I'm a huge Stones fan, I have every Stones CD (just about; ok not really because there's 10,000) but I have that song.

On the Blackhawks website, go to Multimedia\Highlights and go to the beginning of the 2003-2004 season. Pick a game the Hawks scored 2 or 3 goals in at home and you should hear them interchange Rock and Roll Part 2, Song 2, and You Got Me Rockin'.

Also you could view some of the weekly highlights from the 2002/2003 season. Watching those it seems the Hawks sometimes also played "The Boys are Back in Town" and "I Wanna Rock and Roll All Night" when they score. However, I didn't hear either of these in the newer clips. So I assumed they just use R&R 2, You Got Me Rocking and Song 2 now.

This is all very exciting, but is there any truth to the rumors that using custom soundtracks is causing online games to drop? If so, I don't think using custom tracks would be worth it...

i set up my 30 custom break in play songs and turned off all the default ones and darn it, it just plays the same 4 or 5 songs over and over!!

wonder what the deal is?

I'm so lucky I have all 4 of the "Contact" cd's. I think they were produced by the hockey hall of fame and all have hockey specific songs, including crowd chanting and stomping clips as well as break in play organ music and stuff like that.
I don't know if they are even selling any more, because I got the like 7 years ago.

I used Roxio Easy CD writer to write a group of mp3s to a CD-R, closed the CD session, put it in the XBOX, and it read it no problem. My XBOX is about 7 months old in case you are wondering.

Thanks! I think it's already been mentioned here, but it's too good to pass up: http://audacity.sourceforge.net/. Nice open-source sound editor. It has tools to add reverb (GVerb), and then it's just a matter of setting it to taste.

Has anyone been able to get more than 2 of their Goal songs to play? For example, I imported 4 different tracks for my Home Goal event, but only the first two play - never hear tracks 3 and 4. Know there are lots of issues with ciustom tracks in general. Just wondering if anyone figured out a trick for getting it to recognize more than the first 2 tracks. Thanks.

Pretty sure the Flames' intro song is called Navras. It's sort of a techno-opera song.

Do the Wild use that "State of Hockey" song as their intro?

Wings don't use Are You Ready Hockeytown anymore. That was only for the Playoffs, and even that changes every year to a new slogan.

During regular season games, the Wings will use either Harvey Danger's Flagpole Sitta or Lit's My Own Worst Enemy.

There is an organ music section on the Audio Center website that is linked earlier in this thread. They have like 15-20 organ ditties ripped from EA games, most of them are pretty good. I put them in the break in play sections of all arenas.

Hi guys!

There seem to be some confusion when it comes to audio center.
The files for that site are made for EA NHL games, but you still can download them and modify them to get them running on your Xbox.

The audio site is located here: http://audio.arenacenter.net/
There is an Audio Guide to help make/break audio files from MP3/WAV to ASF, and to convert the songs from ASF to WAV using SNDVIEW.
Sndview is written by Toni Wilen and can be downloaded from it’s original site (http://www.nhlinfo.net) or from us at (http://audio.arenacenter.net)
There is a support section with links to different programs I and others use to make audio.

Among the goodies for you who want to convert many .asf files to wav there is a batchfile who does this for you.

Hope this helps with some of the confusion.

"I Love L.A." is by Randy Newman. If you want the real clip played at Staples Center, it's the last chorus at the end of song, followed by the chorus of "Rock N Roll pt. 2".

Oh by the way... I've been to Staples Center for Kings games a million times... here's some of the stuff they play...

Hey all,

I found an mp3 online called Edmonton Oiler warmup but it sounds to me like it's a track from that Jock Jams compilation. It starts out with Michael Buffer doing his thing and then it's basically a huge mix of just about every theme you've ever heard at a sporting event. Can any Oiler fans out there confirm or deny this track for the Oilers intro?

Thanks,

The Flyers were using Song 2 all through the playoffs...

If you go to the Flyers official site and watch any of these vids, you'll hear Song 2 played when the Flyers score.

Yes, the Flyers did use Song 2. I was watching the series between them and the Maple Leafs, and Song 2 started almost right away with the goal horn. However, today I was also watching clips from a mid-season game and they played Rock 'N Roll Part 2. They must have switched for the playoffs...

Anybody help me out here?

My XBox won't let me rip any burned songs to my hard drive... and i've wasted 2 CD-RWs. I have Roxio on my computer, and I got my XBox after Christmas 2002.

I first tried to burn the songs as a data CD, and I finalized the CD. It won't work. err.gif

I then tried to burn the songs as an audio CD without finalizing the CD, and that won't work either. sad.gif

Can anybody let me know what I'm doing wrong here? I know you're supposed to burn your mp3's to a CD-RW, but a buddy told me to burn the songs as a data CD (it worked for him), while people on the board here are saying to burn the songs as a music file.

Posted by: avesman Oct 23, 2004 - 08:12 PM

use Memorex they work really well on my Xbox and I have never had a problem with them, yet(hopefully it stays that way) but use the cd-r's or if you want use their cd-rw's.

I have many of the organ songs played at the Chicago Blackhawks home games. I talked to the organist for the Blackhawks who sent me a collection of songs played in the United Center. Its awesome and will be a great collection when NHL 2K6 comes out with functional custom soundtracks.

confused.gif How do you change the fight music in advanced mode? I want my own tunes for the fights not the default tunes.Sometimes I'll get lucky, and I'll hear my pen-home or pen-away tunes.I have the music slider cranked, it's awesome......,but the default fight music comes in sometimes and drowns everything out.I have to speed the fight up or adjust my stereo receiver volume, which can get annoying. err.gif

Posted by: EASPORTSSUCKS Dec 17, 2004 - 05:21 PM

Some of my break in play tunes for the ACC are.........The Jefferson's tv theme,Thunderstruck and You Shook Me All Night Long -AC/DC,Strike it Up,Twilight Zone,I've Got the Power, which are on JockJams vol 1,Not Ready to Go -THE TREWS,Gel-COLLECTIVE SOUL. The best way is to get all the JockJams,Contact, and DonCerry hits cds.I also have the main title and Imperial March from StarWars. All these songs make the game experience a little more realistic,I went to a game at the ACC last seaon in October ,the Leafs played Washington. All the songs I listed were played when I was there. toothless.gif

This might be lot late , but try converting your mp3's to wav-files then burning them as audio cds (any burning speed will do).

dance.gif He's right, I just burned 24 audio tracks (songs, themes, intros I made) on a "Smart-buy" writable disc and WOW.......................right there on my xbox....VICTORY IS MINE!!!!!!! LOL. Burn your tracks as an audio cd,not an mp3 cd,and it should work fine. cool.gif

Posted by: EASPORTSSUCKS Feb 3, 2005 - 06:00 PM

cool.gif I just uploaded some of the audio I use , that I burnt for myself, and they sound cool. They're all mp3's that I modified with an mp3 audio mixer.I made it so the music starts right away,is cranked, and should fit some or at least one arena well. For example............I did Nickleback's "Too Bad" for the Oiler's Rexall Place. It's loud and starts at the main chorus of the song, which fits perfectly for a penalty away song. Before you burn em, preview them on your winamp mp3 player. So now you can add some realism to your game, I'll upload all the mp3's I made for this game, a.s.a.p Enjoy...................... They're uploaded on the downloads page of this site toothless.gif My name on the downloads page is EASUCKS.

* Detroit Red Wings *

Stanley Cup Win

We are the Champions - Queen
December '63 (Oh What a Night) - The Four Seasons

End of Period

I uploaded The launch, which you mainly can hear in Joe Louis Arena, but i spelled wrong in the description so i pressed stop to correct it.
So now it's only 30 sec instead of 50.

Posted by: LetsGoPens Jul 10, 2005 - 02:08 PM

How long do you make the songs for after you get scored on? The same as the ones when you score? And do general music songs fade out or end when the play starts, or do you have to make them perfect?

Posted by: Frippe2k4 Jul 10, 2005 - 03:31 PM

Too away goal i cut the songs to 50 sec, and for home goal i use gfg's excellent goal horns.
What i know all custom soundtrack fade out when the play starts except 1 thing, when i use my cut fight music for home and away penalty the music fade right after face off, but when i use my custom music for home and away penalty, only the music in the away penalty continue to the place i cut it.
Hope you understood smile.gif

Posted by: LetsGoPens Jul 10, 2005 - 11:12 PM

I need a clear version of the horn that used to be the Ducks and is the Pens in the game. The fog/boat horn.

Posted by: EASPORTSSUCKS Jul 24, 2005 - 06:40 PM

biggrin.gif I just uploaded the Sabres intro and the Blues intro to the downloads section under EASUCKS, they work great in the game clap.gif enjoy

In anticipation for NHL 2k6 I have added a bunch of MP3's for Fights, Intros, and stoppages in play (if someone could add reverb to them it would make them that much better!).

Enjoy!

Posted by: ColdForged Aug 30, 2005 - 02:34 PM

I wonder if anyone has a complete collection of good soundtrack music, all packaged up in one convenient archive. There's a hell of a collection of songs in the downloads area and a single bulk download would certainly be a help. Anyone know of one?

Posted by: Joel Aug 30, 2005 - 03:35 PM

wink.gif Its a surprise.

Posted by: Wingfan Sep 6, 2005 - 01:02 PM

ok fellas, I'm unstickying this thread and locking it. Please check the NEW thread stickied at the top for each arena's custom soundtrack list.
